Welcome to the "Courage 2 Change AA" group of Alcoholics Anonymous.

We are an online community of sober alcoholics, that are dedicated to the still suffering alcoholic, who reaches out for help online. We meet daily via a program called Paltalk, which gives us the capacity to meet in an online room. We run an audio meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous, that is run along similar lines to a face to face meeting. We have a chairperson at each meeting who calls on members to share, or we simply raise our hands. We communicate via our microphones, and listen to other people's shares via our computer speakers. There is time before and after each meeting for "Open Chat", in which you can get to know us, and us you. Many of us have found that this is a wonderful addition to our recovery. For those of us who are isolated by distance, illness or disability, we have found this to be an lifeline. We are a community of real people, who share their very real lives with each other, in the spirit of love, unity and service.

If this all seems quite strange, please watch the video below which will take you step by step, throughout the process of installing Paltalk, and finding our meeting. There are also more written instructions below and you can always email us if you have any problems at this address

More about us

Our membership includes people from the across the globe. Even though we are separated sometimes by vast distances, we have found a unique bond and a unique mission. We seek to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to anyone who has a computer and an internet connection.

We do not intend that online meetings should replace normal face to face meetings of AA. Rather we believe the opposite should be true. We encourage all members to attend their local AA meetings, to be members of a home group, to have a sponsor, and reach out to the sick and suffering alcoholics in their own community's.

But we believe that we have a unique opportunity to reach those alcoholics who are isolated, and use their computers to look for companionship and perhaps hope. Also sober alcoholics, separated by sickness, disability or distance, are finding the joy of real friendship, and are able participate in powerful AA meetings, with other AAers via their computers. These are not mere words. This a life changing reality for us in Courage 2 Change AA.

We meet in a voice chat room. Our meetings are conducted very much like an ordinary AA meeting. We have chair people, topics, we take turns to share. We all hear those shares as a group. The program we use to facilite these meetings is called Paltalk. You can sign up for a free Paltalk account at Paltalk

If you already have Paltalk installed, here is a direct link to our Paltalk webpage. From here you can simply click on the "Enter Room" link at the top to find us. Or you can click on the following link:

Sometimes our members are isolated because of sickness or disability. If you are a fellow sufferer, you will find a warm welcome and much understanding. If you are isolated simply by the hell that is active alcoholism, then you too will find a warm welcome. No matter what other issues you may be facing, as long as you have the desire to stop drinking, then you are most welcome at any meeting of our meetings.

If you have a desire to stop drinking then we think we have the answer to your dilemma. Once you have installed the Paltalk program you will find us in the Health section, in the Overcoming Addictions subsection. Meetings are run every day of the week, 365 days of the year. The meeting lasts for 90 minutes and starts at the following times
  • Australia EST 12:30PM
  • USA EST 10:30PM
  • UK 3:30AM
The meeting room is often open before and after the meeting for members and visitors to be able to chat and get to know each other. It should be no surprise that the power of one alcoholic talking to another still has as much impact whether it is over the phone, over a computer or face to face. The power of this program is undeniable.

If you are reading this and you can not imagine how this can be possible, our online meeting works in a very similar way to the Skype program. All you need to start is a computer headset (headphones with an attached microphone). You can often buy these for less than $10. Plug the microphone plug into the pink hole at the back of your computer and the headphone plug into the green hole and you are on your way. You can also use a stand alone computer microphone and speakers. There is plenty of free help from members to get you started. There are many grandmothers, grandfathers and first time computer users in our midst so don't be afraid. We were all beginners once too. You can do it, and we are here to help.

If you have any questions regarding our group please email us at

We would be more than happy to help you in your journey of sobriety, in any way we can.

Best wishes from all of us at "Courage 2 Change AA".
